Over 1,000 participants, 245 exhibitors, 140 speakers, 234 authorities and guests, 85 students, representing a total of 31 countries. All set in the splendid city of Trieste, the City of Science, at the Generali Convention Center—the “place to be” when it comes to innovation and technology.
From October 1 to 4, Trieste transformed into a true hub for the scientific and industrial community, thanks to the Big Science Business Forum 2024. This event brought together professionals and experts to explore collaborative opportunities between scientific research and the tech industry.
BSBF was this, but much more. It was a unique occasion to connect companies, research institutes, and organizations involved in some of the largest “Big Science” projects, such as CERN, ITER, and the European Space Agency. Thanks to the expertise of The Office, everything was meticulously planned, creating a space where innovative ideas and ambitious projects came to life.
Behind the scenes? For those attending such a well-orchestrated event, everything seems seamless. But behind this success is a complex organization, managed by a team of senior and junior event managers who dedicated 24 months of commitment and creativity, working closely with the Friuli Venezia Giulia Autonomous Region and PromoTurismoFVG, taking care of every detail down to the finest point.
We employed three different web service providers, from registrations to the dedicated app and B2B meetings. Then, there was the “diffused dinner,” which had a special meaning in a multicultural city like Trieste. Not to mention the four research center visits, the 150 booths set up, and, of course, the moments for relaxation, like coffee breaks and lunches, always appreciated in the spacious congress center within the exhibition area.
More than 100 people—from the graphic design company to the setup crew, technical services, catering, security, transportation with dedicated services within the city center to GCC, airport shuttles, on-site staff—all contributed to welcoming participants not only from Europe but also from the United States, China, Japan, and Korea.
A success on all fronts. The event offered numerous plenary sessions, B2B meetings, roundtables, and workshops, enabling over 245 exhibitors and more than 1,000 participants to showcase their solutions and products, promoting synergy between research and industry. Topics such as emerging technologies, sustainability, energy, and the future of scientific infrastructures were central to the discussions, sparking new ideas and collaborations.
With our extensive experience in organizing complex international events, we are proud to have helped make BSBF 2024 a point of reference for the European scientific and industrial community. And we’re ready to roll up our sleeves for new projects that will continue to foster collaboration between these strategic worlds.
